Google Assistant 将扩大支援使用 Android 5.0 的手机用户；此外，使用 Android 7.0 / 6.0 的平板用户终于也能声控 Google Assistant 了。
AI 语音助理 Google Assistant 是 Google 今年的重点发展项目，刚推出时先应用在 Google Pixel 系列手机与 Google Home 扬声器，渐渐地包括搭载 Android 8.0 / 7.0 / 6.0 行动操作系统的手机以及 Android Wear、Android TV、甚至是 iPhone 都能使用。但目前仍有高达 46.5% 的活跃用户使用的是比 Android 6.0 Marshmallow 更旧版的系统，于是 Google Assistant 将向下支援 Android 5.0 Lollipop。
这次 Google Assistant 扩大支援 Android 手机的地区，包括英语系的美国、加拿大、英国、澳洲、印度、新加坡，以及西语系的美国、墨西哥、西班牙，此外还有巴西、德国、意大利、日本、韩国也在支援行列。与其他 Google 服务相比，Google Assistant 部署上仍受系统、语言以及地区等限制；但这次扩大支援范围后，将使超过半数的 Android 手机用户都能使用这项服务。
除了 Android 手机，这次 Google Assistant 终于向美国用户开放支援搭载 Android 7.0 / 6.0 的 Android 平板了。预计未来几周后，用户在家中就能透过平板声控召唤 Google Assistant 寻求搜寻协助、控制智慧家电、或者是启动 Google 的其他服务。
