Ever spent real money just to tweak your hunter's nose in Monster Hunter Wilds? Well, that's about to change. Capcom has announced that Character Edit Vouchers—the paid items you currently need to alter your character's appearance—are being scrapped when the Ascendance expansion drops.
Right now, if you want to change how your hunter looks after creating them, you have to buy a voucher. That's been a common complaint among players who like to tweak their style now and then. But with Ascendance, that paywall is going away entirely.
The news comes straight from Capcom, though they haven't given an exact release date for the expansion yet. What we do know is that once Ascendance arrives, you'll be able to edit your character without spending extra cash. That means no more digging into your wallet just to change a hairstyle or adjust facial features.
For a game all about hunting monsters and looking good while doing it, this is a welcome change. Fashion hunting is serious business in Monster Hunter, and being able to freely customize your character makes the experience more enjoyable for everyone. It also brings Wilds in line with what many players have been asking for since launch.
Of course, this only applies when the Ascendance expansion is released. Until then, the vouchers are still in place. So if you're itching to change your look right now, you'll still need to pay up—or just wait for the expansion.
Capcom hasn't shared a specific date for Ascendance yet, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we hear more. In the meantime, start planning that new look you've been dreaming of.
What do you think about Capcom ditching the paid vouchers? Will you be changing your character once Ascendance hits? Let us know in the comments!
