Ever sent a long-shot email to a game company just to see what happens? One GTA 6 fan in Brazil did exactly that—and actually got a reply.
Reddit user aogustoo shared the story last month, explaining how they fired off a "shot-in-the-dark email" to Rockstar Games asking for a signed GTA 6 poster. "I shared how hyped I was for GTA VI and asked if there was any chance I could get a poster for my room," they wrote. "Honestly, I expected an automated reply or nothing at all."
Instead, an executive actually answered. And then shipped an official GTA 6 poster straight from Rockstar's New York office all the way to Brazil. The Reddit post includes images of both the poster and the emails, though it's unclear if Rockstar truly took the time to send it.
Still, the community is treating it as a win. Rockstar content creator @videotech called it a "massive W" on X/Twitter, noting that the fan isn't an influencer or someone famous—just a random Rockstar fan. "Very kind of Rockstar and Take-Two to take the time and effort to do this," they said.
The fan also blurred out all personal addresses, names, and contact emails to respect privacy, and asked others not to flood Rockstar's inbox with similar requests. "I'm pretty sure this was just a rare act of kindness from someone on their team," aogustoo added.
As the countdown to GTA 6's November 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S continues, fans are hungry for any official merchandise. This story might inspire more emails, but it's also a nice reminder that sometimes asking nicely pays off.
There's still plenty we don't know about GTA 6, but moments like this keep the hype alive. What do you think—will you be sending Rockstar an email? Or are you just counting down the days until November 19?
