Ever wondered what Call of Duty Zombies would look like if you swapped out the undead for Wii Sports characters? Or if you could blast zombies with a Portal gun? One creative fan is making those bizarre mashups a reality.
A Call of Duty fan has managed to get their hands on the source code for World at War Zombies, and they've been posting their wild creations online. The modder has been sharing crossovers that blend Zombies with a bunch of unexpected games and franchises.
So far, the projects include crossovers with Wii Sports, Portal, and Fortnite, plus NHL and Halo. That's a seriously eclectic mix. Imagine rounding up the undead with a Wii remote, or using portals to outsmart a zombie horde. The possibilities are as hilarious as they are impressive.
Getting the source code for World at War Zombies is no small feat, and it's given this fan the freedom to experiment with the classic mode in ways most of us could only dream of. Instead of just tweaking weapons or perks, they're completely reimagining what Zombies can be.
We don't know exactly how these crossovers play or when they'll be available, but the fact that they exist at all is a testament to the creativity of the Call of Duty community. It's the kind of thing that keeps a 15-year-old mode feeling fresh.
For now, the modder is sharing their work online, and fans are eating it up. Who knows what crossover they'll tackle next? Maybe Minecraft? Or Pokémon? The sky's the limit when you've got the source code.
What do you think? Which crossover would you want to see most? Let us know in the comments!
