Witcher 3 Mod Turns Every Griffin Into the Low-Poly Pigeon

Remember that hilariously blocky pigeon from The Witcher 3? You know the one – it looks like it flew straight out of a PS2 game and somehow survived into the remaster. Well, it's not alone anymore. A new mod called Low-Poly Pigeon - The Revenge has swapped every single Griffin in the game with that iconic low-poly bird.

If you're out of the loop, here's the deal: The Witcher 3 has a pigeon with textures so outdated it became a community in-joke. While the rest of the fantasy world looks gorgeous and smooth, this feathered friend is angular and blocky. Players fell in love, and it even escaped being updated in the recent remaster. It's been 11 years, and CD Projekt Red never changed it. It's our blocky pigeon now, and we love them.

But being one of one is lonely. Enter modder grapedia, who decided to give the pigeon some company – by making it the star of every Griffin encounter. "He is back. And he is tired of being ridiculed," the mod description reads. "Every Griffin encounter, every hunt and every supposedly terrifying aerial attack is now carried out by the same bird you once laughed at."

And it gets better. The mod also replaces Griffin sounds with pigeon cooing, so they calmly announce their arrival before trying to kill you. As grapedia puts it: "He could not fight back on the internet. He could not stop the memes. But here, in the Northern Realms, things are different. The pigeon finally has claws, wings, several thousand hit points and absolutely nothing left to lose."

Honestly, it's incredible, terrifying, and beautiful all at once. This is his game now, we're just playing through it. If you're like me, you're probably already itching to start a new save in the remaster just to see this in action. Never underestimate the power of a cute bird.

So, will you be downloading this mod and letting the pigeon take its revenge? What do you think – is this the greatest mod ever, or the most terrifying? Let us know in the comments!
