Ron Perlman Narrates Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Trailer

Capcom taps Ron Perlman to narrate a new Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen video, debuting October 7, 2026, ahead of the expansion's October 9 launch.

Ron Perlman Narrates Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Trailer

Remember when Ron Perlman got paid $40 and a sandwich to narrate Fallout? Well, Capcom is hoping its latest paycheck buys a little more than lunch money.

The Hellboy and Fallout star is teaming up with Capcom again to introduce you to Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. Perlman will narrate a "new video sharing a brief glimpse at what awaits in Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen," lending "his voice to guide us through Norgan and beyond." The video debuts later today — October 7, 2026 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST — just two days before the expansion launches on October 9, 2026.

If that setup feels familiar, it should. Capcom pulled the exact same move at the launch of the base game, tapping John Wick and Kung Fu Panda star Ian McShane to narrate. And just like McShane, Perlman doesn't appear to be part of the actual Dark Arisen cast — he's the voice of the trailer, not a character you'll meet in Norgan. Unless we all missed something, this is pure marketing hype, delivered in that unmistakable gravelly baritone.

Perlman's gaming résumé is nothing to sneeze at. He's best known in games for the Fallout series, narrating multiple entries and playing the TV anchor who announces the bombs dropping in Fallout 4. He's also famously admitted he had no clue the series would take off. "I did a couple of lines, and, you know, got my $40 and my sandwich and went home," he recalled of working on the first game, saying he was caught off guard when he heard a sequel was coming.

He's never appeared in a Capcom game proper, but he did show up in 2020's Monster Hunter film — sporting an extremely anime-looking wig that did not suit his demeanor in the slightest. Capcom was clearly happy with that collab, because here we are again.

So what should you take away from all this? Dark Arisen is almost here, Capcom is going big on cinematic trailers, and Perlman is lending his pipes to the cause. Whether he's actually in the game or just setting the mood, the man knows how to sell a wasteland — or in this case, a dragon-infested one.

Let's just hope he got more than $40 and a sandwich this time. Will you be tuning in for the trailer, or are you just here for the Dark Arisen launch on October 9?
