Ever wished you could relive the glory days of tearing the plastic off a brand-new N64 game box? A French retailer is about to make that dream a reality—sort of.
Micromania has secured replica PAL-edition Ocarina of Time N64 boxes to sleeve your physical Switch 2 copy of the upcoming remake. That means if you pre-order and attend one of their midnight launch events, you'll walk away with that iconic black and gold design slipping right over your modern game case. The event runs the night of November 4 to 5 at select stores, including locations in Antibes, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Nice, Paris, Reims, Rouen, and Toulouse.
The slipcase fully houses the Switch 2 box, and while it's not a perfect recreation of the original cardboard, it'll definitely stand out on your shelf. But that's not all—French fans are also getting a free wallet and a set of three Spiritual Stones with their pre-order. That's a serious haul for anyone heading back to Kokiri Forest.
Compared to other regions, it's a bit of a blowout. US and UK pre-orders are mostly limited to a foil case, and the Spiritual Stones at Nintendo UK have already sold out. Over in the US, Amazon is offering $10 off the foil box edition, bringing it to $59.88 from $69.99. Meanwhile, Canadians can snag an NTSC-U version of the N64 slipcase from EB Games while supplies last.
If you're still itching for a midnight launch party, Best Buy is hosting its own release event with fresh 40th Anniversary Legend of Zelda Switch 2 stock up for grabs. And for those keeping an eye on other big releases, there are also God of War Laufey and Metro 2039 pre-orders to check out.
