Ever wondered if Jason and Lucia are really a couple in GTA 6? Well, it turns out that's up to you. Rockstar North's Rob Nelson spilled the beans to The New York Times, saying their relationship isn't set in stone. It's whatever you make it.
So, what does that mean exactly? Nelson explained that whether they end up as lovers or just partners in crime depends on how you play. You'll have to respond to texts and put in the effort, just like in a real relationship. And here's the kicker: even small things, like holding hands when they leave a store, are tied to the state of your relationship.
This is a whole new level for GTA. Nelson said, "Itβs new for GTA, this idea of your actions having meaning in terms of how you treat your partner or how violent you are." So, if you're a total brute, don't expect a love story. But if you're charming, maybe you'll get that Bonnie and Clyde vibe.
Rockstar is leaning into that Bonnie and Clyde concept hard. Nelson said, "We knew it was the only way for us to go with this game." For those who need a history refresher, Bonnie and Clyde were infamous outlaws in the 1930s, robbing banks and causing chaos until their bloody end in 1934. Their story is all about crime and love, which fits GTA 6 perfectly.
The game's official line is that it's about "whether love can survive through this storm." And that was hinted at in the first trailer, which used Tom Petty's "Love Is A Long Road." Petty sings about a girl who cared, but love is a long road with twists and turns. Sounds about right for a GTA adventure.
GTA 6 hits PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. We've also learned that the map is three times bigger than Red Dead Redemption 2's, and a full playthrough could take 80 hours. Plus, six-star wanted levels are back, and yes, you can pet the dog.
So, will you be playing nice with Lucia, or are you two just in it for the heists? Let us know in the comments!
