Wardogs Players Are Fed Up With Open Doors: 'Close The Damn Doors!'

Wardogs players are flooding Reddit with demands to close doors and gates at Forward Operating Bases, as leaving them open lets enemies waltz in and wipe entire squads.

Wardogs Players Are Fed Up With Open Doors: 'Close The Damn Doors!'

Ever been mid-build on a Forward Operating Base in Wardogs, only to watch a random teammate stroll through and leave the door wide open? You're not alone. The game's subreddit is absolutely fed up with players who can't be bothered to close doors and gates behind them.

Wardogs, the Battlefield-like mass multiplayer FPS from developer Bulkhead, is the hottest game on PC right now. It entered early access in September 2026 after a closed beta in August, and it's been dominating the Steam charts. According to SteamDB, it hit an all-time peak of 428,666 concurrent players on September 13, making it the number-one trending game and the fourth-most-played on Steam, trailing only Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and PUBG: Battlegrounds.

But while everyone's busy being a dog of war, a serious problem has emerged: open doors. FOBs are central hubs where you build defenses and weapons, and they come with doors and gates that you and your teammates can open and close. The catch? They don't close automatically. So if you forget, enemies can just waltz right in and shoot up the place.

Redditor demonmit1 pleaded on September 14: "If you're helping build a FOB, please… We only need one air locked gate for logistics. No one closes them anyways, so adding more is not good. Stop it." Another user, novastar17, posted on September 12: "[PSA]: stop leaving my doors and gates open at my fobs. i have been trying to build mortar complexes and random allies come open doors and let enemies in to just wipe all of us while im busy building."

Some players are suggesting fixes. GOpencyprep proposed auto-shutting doors on August 23, while Automatic_Reach_32 suggested paying players $15 to close doors, similar to revive or heal tips. Others are more blunt: "While Servers are down CLOSE THE DAMN DOORS," wrote xMrStonex on September 14. Icy-Sock-2388 vented on September 5 about spending tens of thousands on a mortar, AA, and respawn FOB, only for enemies to walk through open airlocks and take it.

There have even been threats—players warning that if you leave a door open, you might get a chest full of lead from your own team. Clearly, nobody wants to let the AC out and the enemies in. So next time you're in Wardogs, do your squad a favor: close the damn door.

What do you think? Should Bulkhead add auto-closing doors, or is it on players to remember? Will you be picking up Wardogs if you haven't already?
