Nintendo Direct Rumored for September 10 Thanks to Just Dance Leak

Ready to mark your calendars? A September 10 Nintendo Direct is looking more likely than ever, and you can thank Just Dance for that.

Ubisoft's upcoming rhythm game, Just Dance: Decades of Hits, recently had gameplay leak online. Instead of staying quiet, the official Just Dance X account responded, telling fans to wait for a full reveal on September 10. "We're committed to sharing the complete picture with you on September 10, and we sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support in the meantime," the statement read.

Why does this matter for Nintendo? Well, Just Dance games have a history of showing up during Nintendo Directs. Last year's Just Dance 2026 Edition was announced during a summer Nintendo presentation. Plus, Nintendo often holds a Direct just before the Tokyo Game Show, which starts September 17 this year. Put two and two together, and September 10 looks like a prime spot for a Direct.

This timing fits Nintendo's usual pattern. For the past decade, there's been an early-to-mid September Direct almost every year, with a late August one in 2024 as the only exception. So, if history is any guide, we're due for one soon. And with Nintendo's habit of announcing Directs with about 24 hours' notice, we'll know for sure by September 9.

So, what could we see? Two big exclusives are on everyone's mind: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake and FromSoftware's The Duskbloods. Both are slated for 2026 but lack release dates. The Zelda remake has only been teased with a short, gameplay-less trailer, leaving fans to speculate wildly. The Duskbloods recently had a network test that reportedly drew more interest than Elden Ring Nightreign, and we're eager to jump back in.

There's also the possibility of a special Zelda-themed Switch 2, which leaked recently. If that's real, a September 10 Direct would be the perfect place to unveil it, especially with Zelda's 40th anniversary coming up.
