GTA 6 PEGI 18: Decapitation, Snortable Cocaine, and More

Did you think GTA 6 couldn't get any more outrageous? Think again. The UK ratings board just dropped a bombshell description of the game, and it's wilder than you imagined.

GTA 6 has been rated PEGI 18 in the UK and Europe, which is no surprise. But the reasoning behind that rating is packed with juicy new details. According to the board, the game features "strong graphic violence, strong sexual themes and use of illegal drugs." Yeah, that sounds like GTA.

But here's where it gets crazy. The PEGI description says violence is "bloody with a high degree of realism," and certain weapons can cause "detailed decapitation and dismemberment." So if you thought you'd seen it all, think again. Heads will roll—literally.

Drug use is also "frequent and prominent," with players able to partake in drug use with others and use illegal drugs directly from their inventory. Most notably, cocaine can be carried around and "snorted directly from their hand at any time." That's right—you can huff a line whenever you want. Sounds like a party.

And the sexual content? The rating mentions "scenes of intercourse and occasional scenes of sexual fetishes." In various nightclubs, you can pay for private dances, and the game allows you to move your hands onto the dancers' breasts and buttocks. So yeah, it's not holding back.

All jokes aside, GTA 6 sounds like a wildly fun time based on this age rating description. Rockstar has long positioned its next game as a sweeping evolution of the franchise—its biggest, most extravagant release ever, and the biggest video game release of all time by a variety of metrics. At first, the level of detail in the rating shocked me, but thinking more on it, these extremely mature features feel like a natural progression for a series that's always been defined by excess.

November 19 is going to be one hell of a day. What do you think about these details? Will you be picking up GTA 6?
