Witcher 3 Remastered: Global Release Times Revealed

Are you ready to dive back into the Continent with Geralt? CD Projekt has just locked in the global release times for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, and depending on where you live, you might be playing sooner than you think.

The big moment is September 29 at 12pm in Poland (CEST), where CD Projekt is based. From there, the launch rolls out across the globe. If you're in Los Angeles, you can start at 3am PDT; New York gets it at 6am EDT; London at 11am BST; and so on. Basically, the farther west you are, the earlier the game goes live. So if you're thinking of booking the day off work, you might want to check your local time first.

The remaster is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2. If you already own the base game, congratulations – it's a free upgrade for you. But for those looking to buy it fresh, pre-purchase is available on Switch 2 and Battle.net. That's because The Witcher 3 didn't exist on those platforms before, so they're the only new versions you can pre-order. On GOG, Steam, Epic, Xbox, and PlayStation, the remaster arrives as an update, meaning there's no preload on those platforms.

So what's actually new? A ton. Expect enhanced combat, improved traversal and movement, new witcher signs effects, revamped mount handling, enhanced monster behaviors, a skill tree revamp, transmogrification, an expanded photo mode, and new finishers. It's not just a visual upgrade – it's a full overhaul.

But not everyone is thrilled. This week, fans reacted to an official comparison clip showing side-by-side gameplay from the original and the remaster. In the clip, Geralt casts Igni on a group of drowners in a swamp. While the new version has much greater detail on Geralt's armor and more defined water, the reflections seem to be divisive, with some saying the remaster actually looks worse. Ouch.

Looking ahead, this launch precedes the arrival of Songs of the Past, The Witcher 3's third expansion, which is due in 2027. So there's plenty more Witcher content on the horizon.
