Nemesis Legacy Smashes Crowdfunding Goal in 54 Seconds

Ever backed a board game that hit its funding goal faster than you can say "game over"? Nemesis Legacy just did exactly that, smashing its crowdfunding target in a jaw-dropping 54 seconds. That's right, before you could even finish reading the campaign page, it was fully funded. And it hasn't slowed down since.

The new installment in the beloved Nemesis series is currently sitting at over 1,600% funded on Gamefound, with pledges totaling around €818K (that's about $920K for those of you stateside). The campaign will run for 21 days, so expect that number to climb even higher. Clearly, fans are hungry for more of that signature sci-fi horror.

If you've played the original Nemesis, you know the drill: you're trapped in a facility with unknown creatures that want to rip you apart, and not everyone at the table is working toward the same goal. Some players have their own selfish objectives, so trust is a luxury you can't afford. That tension is what makes the game so deliciously brutal, and it's why the original is considered one of the best board games ever made for horror fans.

Nemesis Legacy shakes things up by introducing a 35+ hour story campaign with branching missions that have permanent consequences. Your choices actually matter, shaping what comes next in bloody and unpredictable ways. But don't worry if you're not ready for a massive time commitment—the game is "fully replayable" thanks to a recharge pack that lets you start the campaign over. Plus, you can dive into standalone missions if you prefer a one-shot experience.

The crowdfunding campaign also includes stretch goals like more miniatures and a new race of alien intruders. Given how fast the community is throwing money at this, those goals will likely be unlocked in no time. It's a testament to how much people love this series.

This isn't the only tabletop project to obliterate its target recently. A Lord of the Rings RPG smashed its crowdfunding goal by 32 times in less than a day. But Nemesis Legacy's 54-second sprint is still an impressive feat.

If you want to see why we adore the series, you can pick up the latest installment, Nemesis Retaliation, from Miniature Market or, if you're in the UK, for £151.20 via Wayland Games. And if you're ready to back Legacy, head to Gamefound before the campaign ends.

So, what do you think? Will you be diving into this 35+ hour horror campaign, or are you waiting for the recharge pack? Let us know in the comments!
