Hong Kong PlayStation fans, your wallet just breathed a sigh of relief. Sony has quietly dropped the prices of its upcoming first-party games on the Hong Kong PS Store, and the cuts are massive.

The Until Dawn remake and God of War: Laufey are priced at HK$278 and HK$388 respectively. That's down from the usual HK$568 for big first-party releases — almost a 50% slash. According to player comparisons, these new prices are actually lower than the US and Japan stores, which is practically unheard of for Sony.

Naturally, players are calling it: Hong Kong is finally being treated as a budget region. "Finally, the high prices were just us being spoiled," one fan wrote, while others urged Microsoft and Nintendo to get with the program.

But not everyone is convinced. Skeptics point out that these two titles might just be smaller in scope, so the lower price doesn't necessarily mean a permanent strategy shift. Others worry the price cut could signal a drop in game quality. And of course, there's the classic joke: "Sony finally realized Hong Kong players aren't cash cows."
