007 First Light Free DLC Arrives October 2

Ready for more James Bond action? 007 First Light is getting free DLC later this week, and it might be exactly what you've been waiting for.

IO Interactive teased the new content with a short video on social media, confirming it lands on Thursday, October 2. The studio is staying tight-lipped about specifics, but we can make some educated guesses. Since launch, the game's main menu has teased the Aston Martin Valhalla, and it looks like that's finally being added.

If the Valhalla update is indeed what's coming, expect a new TacSim mission featuring the sleek Aston Martin. In the main game, the Valhalla appears near the end during a massive set piece. Given how long fans have waited, it's hard to believe this will be just a single short mission. It's likely to include other goodies from the game's roadmap, like New Game+, fresh gadgets, and additional missions.

But that's not all. 007 First Light is also set to receive a premium story DLC centered around Bawama, the pirate king warlord played by Lenny Kravitz. No release date yet, but it's expected to be a paid add-on rather than a free update.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 port is still in the works. It was originally expected by now, but was recently delayed to 2027 to ensure quality. It's unclear how long IO Interactive will support the game, but they've kept Hitman going for years, so there's hope for a steady stream of content.

Even without a constant flow of post-launch updates, 007 First Light has been a massive success. The game sold 4 million copies in its first three months, and sequels are expected—though they'll likely take a while.
