Ever wished you could undo that skill point you wasted in The Blood of Dawnwalker? You're not alone. Developer Rebel Wolves is about to make your life a whole lot easier with Update 1.1, which adds a long-requested respec option, animal petting, and an even easier difficulty mode.
The respec is the headline act. In the current game, there's no way to undo your choices, which is brutal when your resources are already tight thanks to the time mechanic. Update 1.1 introduces the Draught of Mind Rebirth, letting you forget all your Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities and reinvest that time into a different build. No more restarting just because you picked the wrong path.
Animal lovers, rejoice: Rebel Wolves is finally giving in to the 'Can You Pet the Dog?' crowd. But they're not just slapping on a basic animation. Instead, they've built a whole minigame around it. 'What happens when you merge a directional combat system with an ability to pet dogs and cats? Directional. Animal. Petting.' We're not entirely sure how that plays out, but it sounds adorable.
If you found the game too tough, there's good news too. The current 'story' mode will be renamed 'forgiving,' and a new 'story' mode will offer an even easier experience with an additional combat assist. So whether you're here for the narrative or the challenge, you'll have more options.
Beyond those big three, Update 1.1 also brings improvements to combat, traversal, and the camera, along with new subtitle and frame-generation options. And if that wasn't enough, the patch includes over 1,100 other improvements and fixes, so your journey through Vale Sangora should feel much smoother.
The update is set to land sometime next week. No exact date yet, but it's coming soon. If you've been holding off on a second playthrough or struggling with your current build, this patch might be the perfect excuse to dive back in.
What do you think about the new respec option? Will you be trying out directional animal petting? Let us know in the comments!
