007 First Light's Free Extended Operations DLC Out Now, Adds New Game Plus

Did you think 007 First Light was done after you finished the campaign? Think again. IO Interactive just dropped the Extended Operations DLC, and it's completely free. This is the first content-based add-on for the game, and it brings a hefty batch of new stuff to keep you busy.

The headline addition is five new missions for TacSim mode. Four of them revolve around the Valhalla, that supercar you barely got to drive in the campaign. According to the trailer, these look like driving trials where you'll use the car's weapons and gadgets to complete challenges on a timer. Unfortunately, you can't just swap it into other missions yet—but hey, it's a start.

For many players, the real draw is New Game Plus. It comes with a new 00 difficulty that's supposedly way harder than Purist. Enemies react faster, some NPCs are swapped for tougher variants, and combat is brutal with two-hit kills and a tighter parry window. If you've already mastered the base game, this is your next challenge.

But that's not all. IO Interactive also added a photo mode—which was oddly missing at launch—plus new outfits. They've even improved weapon animations and made a cheeky tweak: enemies can now throw you off a cliff, just like you could do to them. Fair is fair, right?

This DLC is a welcome return for one of the best games of the year. IGN gave 007 First Light a 9/10, calling it "the best Bond game I've ever played." While some might have hoped for a story expansion, Extended Operations is free and should tide you over until Bond's next official adventure.

So, will you be diving back into TacSim to tackle those Valhalla missions? Or are you jumping straight into New Game Plus on 00 difficulty? Let us know in the comments!
