Ever waited for a game so long you forgot it was coming? Faraway has been in the works since 2010, and now it finally has a release date: November 5 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
Developed by Steph Thirion and published by Annapurna Interactive, Faraway is a chill sci-fi game where you play as a shooting star journeying across the cosmos. The twist? You can play it with just one button. That's right—one button to slingshot your way through the stars, create constellations, and keep your cosmic traveler fueled up.
It's billed as an endless procedurally generated arcade game. Every run starts from zero, and the universe around you is generated in real time based on your performance. As you get better, you'll pick up speed, rack up points, and travel to increasingly difficult regions. There are also 16 handcrafted puzzle stages to test your out-of-the-box thinking.
The goal is a relaxing mix of discovery, replayability, and long-term mastery. Whether you're in it for the chill vibes or the challenge, Faraway seems designed to keep you coming back.
Annapurna Interactive is publishing, continuing its streak of games with strong artistic vision. The label recently put out Road Trip and Silent Hill: Townfall, and has more in the pipeline like Demi and the Fractured Dream, Uncanyon, and We Kill Monsters.
After 16 years, Faraway is almost here. Will you be picking it up on November 5? Let us know!
