Best Enshrouded Base Locations: 12 Spots You'll Love

Ever spent hours in Enshrouded just looking for that perfect spot to call home? You're not alone. With Embervale's diverse biomes and countless nooks, picking a base location can be tougher than fighting a Shroud monster. But don't worry—we've scoured the map after hundreds of hours of base-hopping to bring you the best Enshrouded base locations in the 1.0 release.

Starting in Springlands, Fort Kelvin is a sprawling abandoned town on the northern border near Revelwood. It's got a central square, underground tunnels, and even a pre-built tower—perfect if you're up for a massive renovation project. If you prefer building from scratch, check out Pondside ruins just west of Fort Kelvin. This little pond with an island is a personal favorite, but watch out for enemy patrols near the path. For a waterfront property that's almost too close to the Shroud, try the Western waterfront—the uneven terrain is a fun challenge. And if you don't mind clearing some trees, the Mountainside pond offers flat space near the Hollowed Halls and a flint mine to the north.

Moving to Revelwood and Blackmire, the waterfall beside Glenwood's End is a must-see. It's a proper RPG waterfall with a secret alcove—though Revelwood's thick foliage can make it dark. For a simpler renovation, the Blue Goblet Tavern is a hilltop pre-built tavern with plenty of ore and clay nearby.

In Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes, the top of the Pillars of Creation is ideal for fast travel—place a Flame Altar on the northern pillar for easy access. The southern foot of the Pillars offers a cozy mountainside nook between two Shroud stretches, with a limestone deposit reachable via hookshot. Shorewatch is a manageable pre-built town in southern Kindlewastes, great for glider jumps from its extendable tower.

Up in Albaneve Summits, the Hermit Lodgings area features a heartbreaking journal, but instead of disturbing the landmark, settle in the cute lakeside cabin to the northwest. Finally, Veilwater Basin boasts two massive pre-built towns: Riverreach, with its three levels and working waterwheels, and Driftwood Wake, smaller and better for fishing. Both are monumental renovation projects, but the allure is undeniable.

So, whether you're after picturesque vistas or strategic strongholds, Embervale has a spot for you. Which base location will you claim first? Let us know in the comments!
