Ever wonder how you'd prove you're actually a pro gamer if the police didn't believe you? For Thai Dota 2 star 23savage, that nightmare became reality in Kuala Lumpur.
The Xipto Esports carry (real name Nuengnara Teeramahanon) shared the wild story on Facebook. On October 13, he and teammates Fbz and Oli were chilling at their training base, scrolling on their phones, when Kuala Lumpur criminal investigation officers suddenly showed up. The cops cut the internet, shut down the computers, and slapped handcuffs on all three players. Passports and phones were confiscated too.
The interrogation dragged on for two hours, with officers asking what the trio did for a living and whether they were really professional esports players. Then came the turning point: one officer wearing a French football jersey actually knew Dota 2 and recognized the Fnatic esports org. 23savage showed his Instagram, and the cop even recognized him from a photo with Malaysian influencer and adult model Ms. Puiyi. The mood finally started to cool.
Still, 23savage had no idea how long they'd be held, and he just wanted to get back to training. So he straight-up asked the officers how much longer this would take. They uncuffed him and let him prove his skill with an actual match.
He fired up Dota 2, picked Kez, and played a roughly 40-minute game right there in front of everyone. The result? 32 kills, 3 deaths, and 10 assists. His team racked up 52 total kills, and he contributed over 60 percent of them. The officers were convinced, and the whole squad was released to continue practicing.
There was one more absurd twist. 23savage complained in his post that the police ate his two jars of Nutella on their way out. When commenters suspected he was joking, he replied simply: "this is true." The reason for the raid remains unclear, and no local news report has corroborated the incident.
For context, Xipto Esports was founded in 2024 and is headquartered in Singapore. The org launched its Dota 2 division on August 31 of this year with a roster of 23savage, inYourdreaM, Fbz, Q, and Oli. About a month after forming, Xipto won its first championship, and on October 8 they took the EPL World Series: Southeast Asia Season 18 title with a 3-0 sweep over InterActive Philippines, earning $5,000 and going undefeated in all seven group-stage series.
So next time someone doubts your gaming cred, remember: a 32-kill performance might just be your best ID card. What do you think—would you have had the nerves to play under that kind of pressure?
