Did you ever think you'd see Hollow Knight's little knight dodging bullets in Fortnite? Well, it's happening – and it'll cost you more than the actual game.
Epic Games just dropped a Hollow Knight crossover as part of its Fortnitemares Halloween event. The full bundle will set you back 2,000 V-Bucks, which translates to £17.19 or $22.49. Meanwhile, Hollow Knight on Steam is currently £12.79 or $14.99. That's right: the cosmetic pack costs more than the acclaimed Metroidvania itself.
What's in the bundle? You get Hollow Knight as a sidekick, a Hallownest Grub as a backbling, and the Nail as a pickaxe. The bench and Shade also make appearances. It's all part of Fortnitemares, which brings horror icons like Slender Man, Freddy Krueger, and the Yautja from Predator, with Beetlejuice on the way soon.
The price gap gets even funnier when you factor in sales. Hollow Knight is nine years old and frequently discounted, so you can often grab it for even less. And if you're looking at the sequel, Silksong, that retails for $19.99 – still cheaper than the Fortnite bundle.
On some level, you have to respect the audacity. Imagine explaining this to someone back in 2017: a knight from a beloved indie game fighting alongside Goku and Peter Griffin. The future is weird, and apparently, it's expensive too.
If you want the Hollow Knight items, you'll need to act fast. The bundle is available in Fortnite until October 15, after which it leaves the shop. It's unclear when or if it'll return.
So, what do you think? Is the Hollow Knight bundle worth the price, or are you sticking with the actual game? Let us know in the comments!
