Laley was quick to thank CD Projekt Red and others who rallied around him. He gave a special shoutout to marketing consultant Indie Game Joe, who donated funds to replace the lost gear. Talk about stepping up! And if you're wondering how you can help, Indie Game Joe had a suggestion: wishlist Laley's upcoming game, Mimic. It's a small action that could make a big difference.

But the bad luck didn't stop there. Another theft hit iam8bit, the creative studio known for its awesome game-related projects. They reported that two laptops were swiped from their booth overnight, despite security being present. Even worse, those laptops held early demos for Petal Runner and Escape Academy 2. That's a double-whammy for anyone working on those titles.

We've reached out to Gamescom for a comment on these incidents, but haven't heard back yet. Still, it's clear that while a few bad apples can spoil the mood, the gaming community is full of generous folks who have each other's backs.
