Star Wars Galactic Racer: Which Speeder Should You Ride?

Landspeeder, Speeder Bike, or Skim Speeder? We break down the strengths, weaknesses, and best upgrades for each speeder type in Star Wars Galactic Racer.

Star Wars Galactic Racer: Which Speeder Should You Ride?

Ever jumped into Star Wars Galactic Racer and wondered which speeder gives you the best shot at victory? You're not alone. With three distinct speeder types—Landspeeder, Speeder Bike, and Skim Speeder—each handling completely differently, picking the right one can make or break your race.

Let's start with the Landspeeder. It's large, stable, and relatively robust, making it the easiest and most intuitive repulsorcraft to fly. Its standard Drift manoeuvre handles corners well enough, and with the right upgrades, it can see you through to the end. For a balanced build, spread your permanent upgrades evenly across all six speeder stats, but lean a bit more into Cornering, Afterburners, and Drift for great handling.

Next up: the Speeder Bike. It's small, fragile, and twitchy, but boasts good acceleration and is the nippiest of the bunch. Its turning circle isn't great, though Kinetic Burst helps you perform tighter turns and gives a burst of speed when you straighten up. Mastering Kinetic Burst is key—once you do, you can race ahead of the competition. To make bikes more forgiving, put upgrade points into Cornering and Resilience. Or play to its strengths with Afterburners and Drift.

Then there's the Skim Speeder. It maintains high speeds with smooth, wide cornering, which can be tricky on certain tracks. Turning on a Knife Edge allows for sharper cornering, but I found it the most difficult to pilot since you need to take wider racing lines to keep your speed. That takes some getting used to, but it doesn't make the speeder bad. Put permanent upgrade points into Drift and Cornering to play to its strengths, and at least a couple into Afterburners to help with acceleration and boost.

Remember, personal preference plays a big role. While I like the default Landspeeder the most, I still highly recommend unlocking the Speeder Bike and Skim Speeder to give them a shot. To unlock them, you need Tuning Points: Speeder Bike costs 10, Skim Speeder costs 20. Earn Tuning Points by finishing races—any position gets you 1, while finishing an Eliminator in the top 3 gets you 4. So pick plenty of Races and Eliminators during your Tours to rack them up quickly.

Tuning Points are also used to permanently upgrade your speeders' stats, so be sure to level them up between Tours all the way to Level 15 for permanent improvements. Then you'll be ready to dominate the track.
