AdventureQuest 3D's 'Kimberly Battleon Song' Is Pure Metal Energy

Ever stumble across a game soundtrack track that hits way harder than you expected? That's exactly what happened with this week's MMO Jukebox pick, which kicks off an alphabetical tour through the soundtracks of key MMORPGs — and it starts with an absolutely metal track from AdventureQuest 3D.

The song in the spotlight is the "Kimberly Battleon Song." If you haven't heard it, picture a character who may not know all the words of what she wants to say — but she is completely, unapologetically enthusiastic about it from start to finish. That energy is the whole point, and it carries the track the entire way through.

There's a real cheek to this one too. It isn't trying to be grand or serious; it leans into its own personality and has fun with it. That combination of metal riffing and playful attitude is what makes it stand out enough to launch this whole soundtrack series.

For context, this is the opening entry in a run through some of the biggest MMORPGs and their music, going alphabetically. AdventureQuest 3D landed the first slot, and it set a high bar with a track that's equal parts loud and lovable.

MMO soundtracks often get overlooked next to the games themselves, but picks like this show why they're worth a listen on their own. A track can capture a character's spirit in a way that sticks with you long after you've logged out — and this one clearly does.

So if you're the type who keeps a game OST playlist going in the background, this is an easy one to add. It's short on subtlety and big on personality, and sometimes that's exactly what you want.

Have you given the "Kimberly Battleon Song" a listen yet? What track would you put at the top of your own MMO Jukebox list?
