Ever been stuck in a game because of a bug that just won't let you finish? Diablo 4 Season 15 players know that pain all too well. A nasty glitch was preventing them from completing the main questline, but the latest patch has finally put it to rest.
The issue? Players were getting their hands on a Splinter of Prime Evil earlier than intended. Sounds like a bonus, right? Not quite. Those Prime Evil powers are supposed to be your reward for finishing the questline, so snagging them early broke the whole progression. Blizzard has now fixed the bug so it won't happen to new characters.
But if you're already affected, the fix doesn't magically repair your quest progress. The developer note explains: "This change prevents this bug from happening but does not reset quest progress on characters who are already bugged." Bummer. To get those Prime Evil Powers, you'll need to create a new character in the same partition (Normal/Hardcore or Normal/SSF) and run through the seasonal questline again. Once you do, the powers unlock for all characters in that partition. Not ideal, but at least there's a path forward.
That's not the only fix in this patch. Another annoying bug that stopped players from rerolling four affixes using the Horadric Cube has also been squashed. Sadly, any resources you wasted trying to reroll are gone for good—Blizzard isn't refunding those. Still, it's better late than never.
However, the update doesn't address one of the community's biggest gripes: Splinters not stacking. Players have been asking for this for weeks, and the lack of a fix has left many frustrated. One Redditor didn't hold back: "Splinters not stacking is truly the dumbest decision of the season." That sentiment echoes across the comments, and it's clear Blizzard still has work to do.
So, what's the takeaway? If you were stuck, you can now complete the Season 15 questline without that pesky bug ruining your run—provided you're willing to start a fresh character. And if you're one of the many hoping for stackable Splinters, keep your fingers crossed. Blizzard might tackle it in a future update, but for now, it's business as usual.
What do you think? Are you going to create a new character to work around the bug, or will you wait for a better fix? Let us know in the comments!
