GTA 6 Skips Disney World Spoof, But Full Florida Vibe Remains

Did you ever dream of causing chaos in a GTA version of Disney World? Well, you might want to sit down for this one.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will not include a spoof of Walt Disney World. In an interview with Game Informer, Rockstar's Jack McPherson said the team evaluates "the diversity of landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species, rock formations and everything else" before deciding what makes the cut. So, while you won't be visiting a fake Magic Kingdom, McPherson stressed that everything in the game is geared toward delivering the "full Florida experience."

It's not just Disney World that's getting the cold shoulder. GTA 6 also won't feature SeaWorld or the iconic Space Coast, home to Cape Canaveral's historic launch pad. That means no rocket launches or orca shows in your criminal escapades. But honestly, is that a huge surprise? GTA 6 takes place in Vice City, a stand-in for Miami, which is a four-hour, 230-mile drive from Orlando. Even though GTA 6 will have the biggest map Rockstar has ever made, expecting it to stretch all the way to Orlando might have been a bit of a stretch.

Still, the idea of a Rockstar-style Disney spoof is fun to think about. Jay Klaitz, who voiced Lester in GTA 5, once wondered if Rockstar would create a legally distinct version of Disney World called "Psycho Park." He thought it would be interesting if they delved into that environment. While that won't happen, there's always a chance the park could be referenced in GTA 6's radio chatter. And let's be real, the well runs deep for things Rockstar could mock about Disney World: ever-increasing ticket prices, the cost of literally anything inside the parks, and the whole "Disney Adult" phenomenon, just to name a few.

Even the most diehard Disney fans have their issues with the parks, so a little satire would have been welcome. But it's not like Rockstar hasn't poked fun at Disney before. GTA 5, which was set in Los Santos (a stand-in for Los Angeles, where Disneyland is located), didn't have a visitable theme park spoof either. However, it did feature a film production company called Fred's Pictures, an obvious nod to Disney.
