FFXI Free Trial Just Got Way More Generous

Ever wanted to dive into Vana'diel but weren't sure if the free trial gave you enough room to really enjoy it? Good news: Final Fantasy XI just made its free trial a whole lot more welcoming.

Square Enix has raised the trial's level cap all the way to 75 and unlocked the time limits that used to hold players back. That means you can now sink serious hours into the game without bumping into a wall or watching a clock.

For anyone who's never touched FFXI, this is a big deal. The game has been around for over two decades, and even though it's technically been in maintenance mode for years, there's still an enormous amount of content packed inside. The free trial is your chance to see what all the fuss is about without spending a dime.

Previously, the trial capped you at a lower level and restricted how long you could play. Now those restrictions are gone, so you can properly explore the world, try out different jobs, and get a real feel for the game's rhythm before deciding whether to subscribe.

Level 75 is a meaningful milestone in FFXI. It used to be the original level cap back in the day, so reaching it on a free trial gives you a taste of the classic endgame experience. You'll be able to tackle more content, group up with other players, and see why Vana'diel has kept so many adventurers hooked for so long.

If you've been on the fence about giving FFXI a shot, this is probably the best time to jump in. The trial is available right now, and with the level cap raised and time limits removed, there's never been a better excuse to explore one of the most storied MMOs ever made.

So, will you be taking advantage of the expanded free trial? What job are you planning to level first? Let us know!
