Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 Episode 1 Free on Twitch

Ready to dive back into Night City without spending a dime? CD Projekt Red just announced that the first episode of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 will stream live for free on its official Twitch channel on October 20 at midnight EST. That's right—you can catch the season premiere without a Netflix subscription, as long as you're cool with Twitch. The studio shared the news along with a handy time zone breakdown so you can figure out exactly when to tune in.

But here's the catch: only episode 1 is free. If you want to watch episodes 2 through 10, you'll need that Netflix subscription. The full 10-episode season drops on Netflix the same day, October 20. So think of the Twitch stream as a free sample—a pretty generous one, if you ask us.

There's more fun to be had on Twitch, too. Selected streamers will be co-streaming the episode on their own channels, so you can watch along with your favorite creators. Plus, viewers can unlock exclusive Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Twitch Chat Badges just by tuning in. Free episode and free badges? Sounds like a win-win.

Now, what's season 2 actually about? According to the official tagline, it "presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077... a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?" So expect a fresh cast and a new tale, not a direct continuation of the first season.

Speaking of the cast, Hideo Kojima is set to reprise his role as Hideyoshi Oshima from Cyberpunk 2077. New characters include D (voiced by Koki Uchiyama and Nazeeh Tarsha), camera-wielding Roman Carrax (voiced by Momoka Terasawa and Valeria Rodriguez), and Weak Kingsley, a significantly older character voiced by the legendary Clancy Brown. That's a pretty stacked lineup.

Mark your calendars: October 20 is the big day. Whether you're watching for free on Twitch or binging all 10 episodes on Netflix, Night City is calling. Will you be tuning in for the free premiere? Let us know in the comments!
