Have you been refreshing the Nintendo UK store every day hoping to pre-order the new Ocarina of Time amiibo? You're not alone. The Young Link and Zelda figures, unveiled during the 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct, have already come and gone at US retailers, but here in the UK, pre-orders are still a no-show. Trust me, I've checked daily, and today's check was just as empty as the last.
But there's a silver lining for us UK-based collectors: some of the best Legend of Zelda Collection amiibo are back in stock, starting from just £12.99. So while we wait for the newbies, you can at least add something fresh to your Zelda shelf. The restocks include Link (Majora's Mask), Link (Twilight Princess), and Link (Skyward Sword). Over in the US, these are listed at GameStop for $59.99, $59.99, and $49.99 respectively, but UK prices are much friendlier.
Unfortunately, the first Ocarina of Time Link amiibo is currently unavailable. It was actually in stock this morning, but by the time I started typing this very sentence, it had sold out. Clearly, there are more hungry Zelda amiibo fans out there than I suspected. Still, the other three are available, and they're some of my favorites in the entire lineup—especially because they're not based on Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.
Don't get me wrong, I love Switch-era Link as much as anyone, but it's refreshing to see amiibo based on different Legend of Zelda games once in a while. These classic figures are some of the most vibrant of the lot. My personal favorite is undoubtedly the Majora's Mask Link—merch from that game can be a bit of a rarity, and Nintendo went the extra mile with the sculpt. He's even holding a little Goron mask in his hand. It's those little details that make it special.
If you prefer the Switch-era Zelda games, though, you're in luck: plenty of the newest Tears of the Kingdom amiibo are also in stock, including the Mineru's Construct figure with its articulated arms. The best part? All of these amiibo—including the classic ones—can be tapped and used with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom to get extra weapons, food, and materials on your journey. And yes, they work on both the Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
So, while the new Ocarina of Time figures remain elusive in the UK, at least we can fill the void with some truly great classic amiibo. Will you be picking any of these up? Or are you holding out for the new Young Link and Zelda? Let us know in the comments!
