Ever wished your AMD GPU could tap into Nvidia's DLSS magic? Well, a modder is making that dream a reality — and the performance gains are absolutely wild.

A third-party tool called DLSS-NR-on-AMD is doing the impossible: getting Nvidia's DLSS 5 neural rendering to run on AMD Radeon graphics cards. And according to recent updates, it's improving at a breakneck pace.

The developer behind the project, Daniel, dropped two major versions in a single day — Alpha 0.3.3 and Alpha 0.4.0. Those updates brought performance boosts of 23% and 42% respectively, adding up to a whopping 74% cumulative gain in just 24 hours. That's not a typo. One day, nearly double the performance.

So what does that actually look like in practice? YouTuber Ancient Gameplays put the tool to the test using an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT. Running Cyberpunk 2077 at 3440×1440, the card jumped from around 30 FPS with DLSS 5 enabled to a much smoother 50 FPS. That's a night-and-day difference for a game as demanding as Cyberpunk.

And the developer isn't done yet. Daniel teased that another major update is on the way, promising even bigger performance gains for Radeon cards. If the current pace of optimization keeps up, this tool could soon match Nvidia's official DLSS implementation — while also improving image fidelity along the way.

For AMD fans, this is huge news. DLSS has long been one of Nvidia's biggest selling points, and having a workaround that runs on Team Red's hardware could change the game for a lot of PC builders. Of course, it's still an unofficial alpha tool, so expect some rough edges — but the progress is undeniably impressive.

Would you try this on your AMD card, or are you waiting for an official solution? Let us know in the comments!
