The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Redux is finally out, and PC players are already digging up some truly cursed screenshots. One player recently shared an image where Vesemir's eyes had turned an alarmingly bright red, while the game's frame rate reportedly tanked to around 10 FPS. At first glance, plenty of folks assumed the Redux had some serious compatibility problems.

But it didn't take long for the player to figure out the real culprit: it wasn't entirely the game's fault. The issue traced back to mods installed for the original Witcher 3 — things like character appearance tweaks, eye replacements, and texture packs. Since the Redux overhauled a ton of character models, materials, and rendering systems, any old mod that hasn't been updated to match can cause weird glitches, missing models, or even massive performance drops.

In other words, if you've got a folder full of legacy Witcher 3 mods lying around, you might want to do some spring cleaning before diving into the Redux. Otherwise, you could end up with a witcher who looks less like a seasoned monster hunter and more like a certain laser-eyed supe.
