Ever wondered how a two-time Oscar winner handles getting wrecked in Fortnite? Ben Affleck just spilled the beans on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, and his take is hilariously relatable.
Affleck, a self-proclaimed big gamer who loves first-person shooters, thought he'd hold his own when he tried Fortnite. Spoiler: he didn't. He got eliminated almost instantly, and the 12-year-olds he was up against didn't hold back—they mocked him after taking him out. Affleck admitted he got heated and shouted back, "I don't suck! I'm a grown man!"
But the Fortnite drama didn't stop there. Affleck also recalled how his son wanted Fortnite skins for Christmas. When he found out the specific skins cost hundreds of dollars, he was floored. "They ain't even real? Just to wear in the game? That's bullsh**," he said. Ouch.
Despite his Fortnite woes, Affleck is a big fan of the competitive shooter Valorant. And in the movie Gone Girl, his character can be seen playing Battlefield 3—so he's no stranger to virtual combat.
Affleck isn't alone in his Fortnite frustrations. GameSpot's Phil Owen recently wrote about why Fortnite sucks this season, proving even celebrities and critics agree: the game can be a tough nut to crack.
So, what do you think? Have you ever been trash-talked by a 12-year-old in Fortnite? Or balked at skin prices? Let us know in the comments!
