Pokémon Worlds 2026: Movie, Singapore, Mega Evolutions & More!

Missed the 2026 Pokémon World Championships? Don't worry—we've got you covered. The closing ceremonies were packed with surprises, from a brand-new movie to game updates and a major TCG reveal. Here's everything you need to know.

First up, the big one: a new animated movie is on the way! For the first time in seven years, Pokémon is hitting the big screen with 'Pokémon Wild Card,' slated for 2027. The teaser showed a TCG player and Mimikyu, and we're already hyped. Plus, the 2027 World Championships are heading to Singapore—marking a return to Asia for the first time since 2023.

For Pokémon Champions, get ready for Regulation Set M-C, introducing Rillaboom, Baxcalibur, and new Z-Megas: Mega Absol Z, Mega Lucario Z, and Mega Garchomp Z. There's also a teased Mega Heatran in the trailer, but it's not confirmed yet. These drop on September 9th JST, so mark your calendars.

Pokémon GO players, listen up: Mega-Evolved Pokémon now get an extra Charged Attack, and starting with GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, you can take them into all levels of the GO Battle League. And guess what? Armored Mewtwo is returning after six long years—don't miss it!

The TCG world is shaking things up with a new series logo: ex★ (ex-Star). Expect Mega Lucario Z and new 'Mega attack rare cards' featuring Mega Darkrai, Mega Greninja, Mega Rayquaza, and Mega Zygarde. The Legendary Beasts—Suicune, Raikou, and Entei—are also teased. Keep your eyes peeled.

Pokémon UNITE is adding Flareon, Jolteon, Morpeko, and Toxtricity this September and October, completing the Eevee line. This comes after Zeta Division's win at Worlds, which was UNITE's last on that stage. Next year, there's a separate tournament: the Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo, tentatively in late March 2027.

And for the anime fans, 'Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu' got its first trailer, exclusive to Disney+ and DisneyXD. Plus, the Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep was revealed, and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara hinted at more wearable tech integration ahead.
