Were you hoping to race through Japan on your PS5 in 2026? You might have to wait a bit longer. A new report from reputable leaker billbil-kun says Forza Horizon 6 for PlayStation 5 has been delayed to January 26, 2027. That's a shift from what Microsoft told us just a month ago.
Back in September, Microsoft said in a blog post that the PS5 version of the popular racing game was due out in 2026. But according to this new report, those plans have changed. Officially, Microsoft hasn't said anything about a new release date, so take this with a grain of salt for now.
The good news? The report also says there will be a physical disc edition at retail, alongside the digital version. So if you're a collector or just prefer having a disc on your shelf, you're covered. That's a nice touch in an increasingly digital world.
Forza Horizon 6 originally launched in May this year for Xbox Series X|S and PC. It's set in Japan and scored rave reviews, including an 8/10 from GameSpot. PlayStation fans have been waiting patiently for their turn behind the wheel, especially since Forza Horizon 5 was a huge hit on PS5.
In other Forza news, Microsoft recently announced that Forza developers Turn 10 and Playground are merging into one unified studio to support and grow the brand going forward. That's a big structural change for the franchise.
So what does this mean for you? If the report is accurate, you'll have to wait until early 2027 to play Forza Horizon 6 on PS5. But at least you'll be able to buy a physical copy. Microsoft still hasn't confirmed anything, so we'll keep an eye out for an official update.
What do you think about the delay? Will you be picking up the disc version when it finally arrives? Let us know in the comments!
