Sexyy Red Calls Out Marvel Rivals Over Storm's Legendary Skins

Rapper Sexyy Red asks Marvel Rivals when Storm will get another Legendary skin, joining fans frustrated that she only has one. The devs have already promised a free upgrade to her Sacred Skies skin.

Sexyy Red Calls Out Marvel Rivals Over Storm's Legendary Skins

Did you ever think you'd see a rapper demanding more skins for Storm in Marvel Rivals? Well, that's exactly what happened when Sexyy Red jumped into the conversation.

On October 15, Marvel Rivals posted a statement about improving moderation for speech violations. That post sparked its own debate, but it also caught the attention of the "Sticky" rapper. In a quote-retweet, Sexyy Red asked the official Marvel Rivals account, "When y'all gon give Storm her legendary skin?" Fans were mostly stunned that Sexyy Red even plays Marvel Rivals, while others quickly joined her call for more Storm costumes from NetEase and Marvel Games.

The devs are well aware of the chatter around Storm's Legendary skins—or lack thereof. Back in August, they directly acknowledged the matter in a post. This came less than 24 hours after the debut of Storm's swimsuit skin, Sacred Skies, which was originally listed as an Epic skin. Many fans were upset that, out of all the female characters in the swimsuit lineup, Storm's was the only one that wasn't Legendary.

Shortly after, the Marvel Rivals Twitter/X account revealed it would upgrade Sacred Skies to a Legendary skin for free in response to player feedback. "While we deeply value the expressive nature of our players, our number one goal is to create a positive community for everyone who loves this game," they wrote. "...As the upgrades will take some time, please be patient, as we are already hard at work on the above. Get ready for the Mistress of the Elements to reign over the battlefield soon."

That upgrade is still in the works, but fans are also hoping for another Legendary skin for Storm, if rumors are to be believed. Based on character silhouettes for an upcoming skin line, it looks like players might soon get Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls crossover costumes, with game journalist Miller Ross comparing them to Storm and Iron Man's poses in the 3v3 tag fighting game. If true, this wouldn't be the first Marvel game to collaborate with Fighting Souls—Marvel's Wolverine got its own cel-shaded skin from Arc System Works' fighting game, while Logan received a more realistic costume in Fighting Souls from Insomniac's action-adventure title.

It's worth noting that Storm isn't the only female character in Marvel Rivals with just one Legendary skin; Jubilee, Black Widow, and Angela also only have one each. Emma Frost seems to have the biggest wardrobe of the bunch—so much so that some fans are ready for her to share some closet space with the rest of the gals.

Will you be picking up Storm's upgraded Legendary skin when it drops? And do you think she deserves another one entirely? Let us know in the comments!
