Bill Skarsgard Joins Kojima's Physint as Lead

Ever wondered who'll be the face of Hideo Kojima's next mind-bending project? Well, wonder no more: Bill Skarsgard has been cast as the lead in Physint, Kojima Productions has announced.

Skarsgard, known for his chilling turn as Pennywise in It and roles in John Wick and Boy Kills World, will play the player character. He joins a stacked cast that already includes Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe. So yeah, expect some serious star power.

Physint is described by Kojima as an action-espionage game that blurs the line between games and movies, bringing together talent from both industries. The title is still provisional, and story and gameplay details are under wraps. But during the Xbox at Tokyo Game Show broadcast, Kojima said the game is "unbound by any existing genres in digital entertainment." Sounds like classic Kojima, right?

Here's the backstory: Physint was originally being developed with PlayStation, but PlayStation Studios withdrew in June. Kojima then spent about three months finding a new partner before striking a deal with Xbox. That partnership builds on the existing relationship between Xbox and Kojima Productions, who are also working on the experimental horror game OD.

And it doesn't stop at games. Kojima Productions and Xbox have said they intend to explore film and television projects together, expanding their collaboration beyond interactive entertainment. So we might see Kojima's weird and wonderful worlds on screen in more ways than one.

As for when you can play Physint? No release date yet, but it's expected to arrive after OD, which is further along in development. So don't hold your breath, but do keep an eye out.
