Monster Hunter Puzzles Shutting Down in 2027, Offline Version Coming

Did you know there's a Monster Hunter game where you don't play as a hunter at all? Monster Hunter Puzzles: Felyne Isles puts you in the paws of a Felyne, solving puzzles to rebuild a village. Well, if you've been enjoying this cozy spin-off, there's some bittersweet news.

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Puzzles: Felyne Isles will officially end its service on January 14, 2027 at 11:00. The official Japanese Twitter account shared the notice on October 19, 2026, thanking players for their support and promising to keep the game running until the very end.

The game itself is a match-three puzzler where you play as a memory-wiped Felyne helping to restore a village. You fight monsters by matching tiles, gather acorns and other materials from quests to rebuild island facilities, and can invite friends to visit your island. There's also a robust dress-up system for customizing your character.

But here's the good news: the shutdown doesn't mean the game disappears entirely. After service ends, you'll still be able to play the parts that don't require an internet connection. Any purchased satiety and enhancement items will remain usable, though technical support will no longer be provided. All in-app purchases and ranking features will stop on November 12, 2026, and that same day, a one-time purchase permanent offline version will be released. Capcom will provide a save data transfer tool, so if you want to keep playing, don't delete your current online version.

Meanwhile, the Monster Hunter mobile lineup is still going strong. Monster Hunter Now, developed with Niantic, continues to operate, and Tencent's Monster Hunter Traveler is on the way. Plus, Netflix is set to launch Monster Hunter Rise. So even as one door closes, others are opening.

What do you think about this transition to an offline version? Will you be picking up the permanent edition to keep your village alive? Let us know in the comments!
