Corsair Skiff 100 Plus Review: The Silent Membrane Keyboard That Surprised Us

Ever wondered if a membrane keyboard could actually feel good? The Corsair Skiff 100 Plus might just change your mind.

Priced at $59.99 / £59.99, this full-sized membrane deck often drops to around $49.99 / £39.99, making it a tempting alternative to budget mechanical keyboards. Corsair packs in six macro keys, a volume dial, and vibrant RGB lighting, but the real story is the typing feel. The rubber domes deliver a smooth, silent experience that's a welcome relief for tired hands—especially if you're used to the mushy, heavy actuation of typical membrane boards.

In fact, our reviewer calls it the best membrane gaming keyboard they've tested for typing feel. The keys are quiet, tactile, and surprisingly breezy to press. Only the SteelSeries Apex 5 offers a better typing experience among similar hybrids. The all-black plastic chassis feels sturdy, and the ABS keycaps are standard at this price, though they can't be replaced—once they shine up, you're stuck with them.

You get a comfortable full-sized layout with a volume dial and six dedicated macro keys on the left side. The dial also handles media playback when you hold the Fn key. Customization is split between Corsair Web Hub for basic RGB and macros, and iCue for deeper per-key lighting and Win-Lock settings. There's even a PS5/PS4 compatibility mode toggled via Fn+Windows.

The included wrist rest is a nice touch, though not as plush as pricier models. It stays cool during long sessions. However, the keyboard only offers 12-key selective rollover, not full N-key rollover—a minor limitation for most gamers.

The permanently attached rubber cable is a downside; it kinks easily and makes travel messier. But if you prioritize silence and comfort over mechanical clack, the Skiff 100 Plus is a solid budget pick. Will you be picking this up? Let us know in the comments!
