Arc Raiders PvE Griefers Are Ruining the Mode

Arc Raiders' new PvE mode is already plagued by griefers who camp loot rooms, lure enemy robots to extraction points, and block players—all without consequence.

Arc Raiders PvE Griefers Are Ruining the Mode

Ever jumped into a PvE match expecting a chill loot run, only to get shoved into a Shredder by some random? Welcome to Arc Raiders' new experimental PvE mode, where griefers are finding creative ways to ruin your day without ever firing a bullet at you.

In PvE, your shots don't hurt other raiders, so you'd think it'd be a safe haven. But players are using that safety to cause chaos. Videos are circulating of folks using the Bull Rush ability to bash into players trying to extract, pushing them into arc enemies. The victim dies, and the griefer can loot them without consequence. It's next-level rat behavior in a game already famous for it.

Then there's the loot room camping. Griefers park themselves outside locked rooms and wait for someone with a key to show up. The key holder either shares the spoils or has to bail and hope for better randoms next match. In PvP, you'd just kill the competition. In PvE, it's a mad dash to grab everything first.

And let's not forget the lure grenades. Players are tossing them to pull enemy robots—especially the dreaded Shredder—right into extraction points. One player on X described their first PvE game: "vultures" taking all the loot, then getting lure grenades thrown at them while fighting Arc. Their wife went down, and when they tried to revive her, they got body-blocked and pushed around "like I'm in grade school again."

Why would anyone do this? Maybe they're just selfish, or maybe they're PvP players hoping to get the experimental mode shelved so they can go back to easy pickings. Either way, there's currently no way to punish this behavior. Embark says loot is nerfed in PvE, but players are still coming out with crazy gear.

The mode landed right after Arc Raiders' biggest update, which added grappling hooks, a new map, and more—sparking a player resurgence not seen since March on Steam. It's not the first griefing incident either. Last December, a player went viral for killing newcomers for sport, igniting a debate about acceptable PvP behavior.

With Bungie also planning PvE modes for Marathon, it's clear extraction shooters are still figuring things out. Hunt: Showdown stuck to its guns and kept its identity. Will Embark do the same, or will PvE become a permanent griefer playground? What do you think—should PvE stay, go, or get a major overhaul?
