Witcher 3 Remaster Hits 137K Steam Players, CDPR Celebrates

Did you jump back into The Witcher 3 this weekend? You're not alone. The newly released remaster has pushed the game to a brand-new all-time player peak on Steam, and CD Projekt Red is loving every minute of it.

According to SteamDB, The Witcher 3 hit a record 137,724 concurrent players just 18 hours ago. That's a massive jump from the previous peak of 103,329, which was set back in January 2020 when the Netflix series first debuted. The remaster launched early last week and immediately surpassed 120,000 players within hours, but clearly even more of you have since answered the call to return to Geralt's adventure.

CD Projekt Red took notice. Paweł Sasko, associate game director on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, shared his excitement on Twitter: "There is plenty of you on the path this weekend, my dears witchers. Much love and gratitude for playing our games." He attached a screenshot of the Steam peak, highlighting that very impressive number of 137,724 white-haired witchers playing on PC.

It's a well-deserved milestone. The Witcher 3 Remastered is a free upgrade that brings massive visual overhauls, improved combat, and much more. It's not just performing well on Steam, either—it's currently the top-scoring game of 2026 on Metacritic, narrowly beating out the original RPG from CD Projekt Red. The developers are committed to tweaking it further, promising more updates as players report issues.

So whether you're a veteran returning to the path or a newcomer experiencing Geralt's saga for the first time, the remaster has clearly struck a chord. With CDPR's continued support, there's never been a better time to dive back in.
