Did you ever think you'd see Sora fighting alongside Fishstick? Well, dream no more—Kingdom Hearts has officially invaded Fortnite, and there's a ton of stuff to collect.
First up, the iconic Kingdom Key is now a weapon. According to Epic, you can use it to clobber opponents and even call down a shocking bolt of lightning to clear the battlefield. Need a quick heal? Grab a Sea Salt Ice Cream to top up your health and shields before diving back into the fight.
But the real magic happens under the heart-shaped moon on the Fortnite island. That's where you can activate Kingdom Hearts Overrides. The Recovery Override gives you healing orbs whenever you eliminate another player equipped with a weapon. The Level Up Override spawns a Mythic Kingdom Key for each squad member at their current location. Talk about a power-up!
Mark your calendars for the Kingdom Hearts Power Hour on Saturday, September 19. It runs at two different times: 11 AM PT - 1 PM / 2 - 4 PM ET and 6 - 8 PM PT / 9 - 11 PM ET. Don't miss out on the action.
Want to dress like your favorite Kingdom Hearts characters? Starting September 17 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET, you can grab Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Roxas in the Fortnite Shop. Each one comes with its own Back Bling, Pickaxe, and Lego Fortnite style. It's a great way to show off your fandom while battling.
While Kingdom Hearts 4 won't launch until 2027, this crossover helps fill the gap. Plus, it's cathartic to see Kairi get a chance to kick some butt for once. In other news, the game was recently caught up in a massive data breach ahead of KH4's launch. If you're not afraid of spoilers, you can check out the leaked achievements that hint at worlds like Coco and other surprise IPs.
So, will you be dropping into Fortnite to wield the Keyblade? What do you think of the new Overrides? Let us know in the comments!
