Did you know Daredevil himself is diving deeper into video games? Charlie Cox, who made his gaming debut in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, just dropped some exciting news at New York Comic Con 2026. He's working on a brand new Sega game!
After over 20 years of acting, Cox finally stepped into the gaming world with 2025's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, voicing the lead character Gustave. And here's the kicker: he only spent four hours working on the French JRPG (or J'RPG, if you will). Yet, the game blew up and became one of his most beloved roles. Talk about a return on investment!
Cox told IGN at NYCC that this experience "has seemingly opened a new avenue for my professional work." He confirmed earlier this year that he was working on another game, and now we know it's a Sega project. "I did another one, it doesn't have a name yet," he said. "I did a Sega one. It hasn't come out yet but it was fun to do."
But don't expect a quick cameo. Cox revealed that this role required a whopping 40 hours of work—way more than his four hours on Clair Obscur. "It's hard. It's a whole different job," he admitted. And there's a funny twist: when he showed up on the first day, the team was surprised to learn he's English. They wanted him to be American, so he had to do 40 hours of lines in an accent he hadn't prepared for. Oops!
Since the game doesn't even have a name yet, details are scarce. It's likely something we haven't heard of, which means RPG fans hoping for Cox to voice a character in Persona 6 are probably out of luck. But given how much RGG Studio loves casting celebrity actors, could Cox be joining an upcoming game from them? With his American accent in Daredevil, maybe a return of the Judgment series is in the cards? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, Cox has finally played Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 himself, and he's not afraid to admit: "I'm not very good at it." Hey, at least he's honest! So, what do you think? Will you be picking up this mystery Sega game when it launches? Let us know in the comments!
