Cody Rhodes Keeps Dropping X-Men Hints: Is He Joining the MCU?

Did Cody Rhodes just accidentally confirm he's part of the X-Men? The Street Fighter star and WWE champion has fans buzzing after another cryptic comment about Marvel's mutants.

In a recent chat with Nerdist, Rhodes was asked what he "nerds out about." His response? "I nerd out… I'm an X-Men, I nerd out about that…" Now, that could easily be a slip of the tongue—maybe he meant "I'm into X-Men." But given his history of X-Men-related teases, it's hard to ignore.

Back in August, Rhodes visited Marvel Studios, and later shared an Instagram story using the X-Men '97 theme music. Then, on Andrew Schulz's podcast, Schulz—who stars alongside Rhodes in the new Street Fighter movie—asked him what team Rogue is part of. Rhodes quickly changed the subject. Coincidence? Maybe. But fans are convinced there's something more going on.

Of course, this could all be nothing. But other sites have picked up on it, and the rumor mill is spinning at full speed. My gut feeling? He might be voicing a character in X-Men '97 season 3 rather than starring in the live-action X-Men movie. He's been a popular fan-cast for Colossus, though.

So what's the timeline? X-Men '97 season 3 is set to arrive sometime in 2027, while Marvel's live-action X-Men movie hits theaters on May 5, 2028. If Rhodes is involved, we won't know for sure for a while.

For now, it's all speculation—but that won't stop fans from dreaming. After all, Rhodes has the charisma and the physique to bring a mutant to life. Whether he's voicing one or suiting up, we're here for it.

What do you think? Is Cody Rhodes joining the X-Men, or is this just a series of coincidences? Let us know in the comments!
