The Witcher 3 Remastered: A Nostalgic Return to 2015's GOTY

Remember when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first stole your heart back in 2015? If you're like us, it wasn't just a game—it was a world you lived in. Now, CD Projekt Red has given it a stunning remaster, and it's pulling us right back in.

Forget the debates about whether this remaster is worth it. The game looks absolutely gorgeous. We're talking sunsets that make you stop and stare, and yes, even the way light catches Geralt's beard is a sight to behold. But beyond the visuals, it's the feeling of coming home to a world you know intimately. The battlefields, the bustling city, the icy shores of Skellige—they're all here, waiting for you.

And it's not just a pretty face. The remaster comes with some handy new features. You can now see all your quest objectives on the world map, flip between them with a trigger squeeze, and enjoy a less cluttered HUD. A new loot feed tells you exactly what you've picked up, so no more guessing what 'this' is. Combat has been tweaked too, smoothing out some of the old jank, though it still feels unmistakably like The Witcher 3.

If you bounced off the game years ago because of how it played, this probably won't convert you. But for veterans, it's a lovely excuse to dive back in. Plus, both previous expansions are now free, and a brand-new expansion, Songs of the Past, is pencilled in for 2027. That means you'll want a fresh 100% save to carry over.

So, what do you think? Will you be returning to the Continent for another round of monster hunting? Let us know in the comments!
