What if you could fight Necromorphs in Area 51? Battlefield 6 is about to make that a reality with a wild Dead Space crossover event this Halloween.
EA and Dice are calling it a "non-canon" event, which basically means they can go absolutely nuts with it. We're talking Necromorphs in Area 51 — because why not? The teaser earlier this week showed the alien monument The Marker popping up at the end of Battlefield 6's Vegas trailer, and now we know what it was hinting at.
In the event, Pax Armata will be chasing down secret tech hidden beneath Area 51, and the whole thing is decked out with assets from the Dead Space remake. You'll be able to unlock unique cosmetics just for playing, starting October 20. But don't sleep on it — the event wraps up November 7, so you've got a limited window to grab everything you want.
This all ties into Battlefield 6's massive Season 5, which officially kicks off October 13. According to Battlefield Studios general manager Patrick Klaus, it's been a huge year: "Battlefield 6 is now one year old and what an incredible journey it's been, from our Top Gun collaboration, which coincided with the return of Naval Warfare, to the launch of some of the most exhilarating maps in Battlefield history. And we're just getting started, with Season 5 set to be the biggest yet."
Klaus also teased what's coming: "We're ending 2026 with a bang with three maps set in and around Las Vegas, a new way to experience REDSEC, as well as delivering on some of our community's most requested features, with the introduction of Platoons and Server Browser. There's never been a better time to play Battlefield."
So what does Season 5 actually bring? For starters, you'll wage war across the Vegas strip, dodging neon signs while baking under the desert sun. The Area 51 map will also be playable in standard modes, not just the event. Then on November 10, a new close-quarters map called European Casino enters the rotation — described as a map that will "chew you up and spit you out like a real Vegas gambling den." And if that wasn't enough, December 8 promises to "bring an unexpected chill" to Vegas. Snow in Sin City? Sure, just go with it.
REDSEC is getting some love too with Rapid Royale, a fast-paced battle royale variant across the Vegas Strip. Expect faster rounds, fewer players, and a twist: killing generates money you can spend on respawning back into the fight. That mode arrives at the very start of the new season on October 13.
With a Dead Space crossover, a Vegas strip warzone, and a battle royale that lets you buy your way back in, Battlefield 6's Season 5 is shaping up to be one hell of a ride. Will you be dropping into Area 51 to fight Necromorphs? Let us know in the comments!
