The best early Black Friday PS5 deals in 2026: the biggest Sony saving

Menu (Image credit: Future/SteelSeries/Sony PlayStation) 1. Retailers to know 2. Today's best deals This year's Black Friday PS5 deals are in a bit of an awkward situation. Sony's announcement that it's ditching physical discs from January 2028 put a bit of a damper on this holiday's deals, as it doesn't feel quite the same picking up physical games when it's highly probable the PS6 is not going to come with a disc drive in tow and we're heading toward a digital-only future. Not to mention, anyone who has yet to grab a PS5 might feel reluctant to do so if they're a physical game fan, and that's before you account for the price hike, which has made the PS5 Pro a $900 console. For me, that makes Black Friday and this year's savings more important than ever, as I fully plan to use it as an excuse to sweep up any physical games I've yet to play. That way, come 2028, my back catalog will be bursting at the seams, and I'll still have plenty of physical discs to get through. In my last few years covering Black Friday, PS5 game sales are typically where the best deals are found, and I suspect that will be the case this November. A lot of heavy hitters were released this year, from Resident Evil 9 Requiem to Pragmata, and it's those that all eyes should be on. There's every chance that even recent releases like Marvel's Wolverine or Silent Hill Townfall could receive their debut discounts ahead of this year's sales. If you're not really fussed about physical games, accessories are always prevalent during Black Friday and beyond. Since last year, the best PS5 headsets have been shaken up with the launch of the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Omni, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that its AU$879 will be taken down a notch, especially as GTA 6 is incoming. Black Friday is kicking off the same month as GTA 6, and so having the best cans at your disposal will go a long way toward enjoying the game's new soundtrack. As will having some extra storage to tackle the game's estimated 130GB, or even a flashy new controller. Whatever you're looking for, our years of expertise finding the best deals will help you make the most of this year's PS5 Black Friday discounts. This one's also good if you're over the trappings of modern blockbuster open world games: sure, there's a big ol' map, but this one keeps things very story focused. View Deal Monster Hunter Wilds: was $39 now $29 Although the ticket price on this is AU$39 now, it was at least AU$89 upon release back in March 2025, so AU$29 is good value indeed. Sure, it's proven divisive, but if you're a fan of the series or have a crew who want to stab a bunch of monsters to death in a pretty open world, it's a good time. View Deal Cloud Alpha Wireless: was $299 now $213.03 This wireless set of cans has a durable aluminium body, up to 300 hours battery life (!) and supports PC, PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Will almost certainly go cheaper than this as Black Friday approaches. View Deal Black Friday is still many weeks away, and yet Pragmata has dropped to a record low $49.99 today. There's every chance it could receive a bigger discount later this year, but this $10 is still a pretty sight to see. View Deal Metal Gear Solid Snake Easter Tactical ED: was $89.95 now $58.32 What a thrill to see MGS Delta Snake Eater as low as $38 right now. According to my handy dandy CamelCamelCamel price checker, the remake of the iconic PS2 title has been cheaper, this $12 saving is still ideal if you want to experience one of the best stories in the MGS series. View Deal Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales: was $94.95 now $84.95 This is my go-to game to play around the holidays, and it's down to a little under $30 right now. If you have yet to dive into Insomniac's Spidey world, I highly recommend it. Although my Spidey sense tells me it's likely this game will see better savings once Black Friday officially kicks off. View Deal Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties: was $59.99 now $39.06 Still catching up with the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series? Well, now's the ideal time to pick up Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties. This remake likes to jump back up to its full $69 MSRP fairly often, so I'd recommend grabbing this deal before it disappears again. View Deal Persona 3 Reload: Standard Edition: was $69.99 now $19.40 If you've got plenty of free time to invest in an Atlus RPG, Persona 3 Reload is a little under $20 today. It's not a record-low price, but it's only $5 off which is still nice to see. View Deal Those of you after some RPG fun may also like to know that Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D is around $40 this week. This is one of the PS5 games to watch this holiday discount season, as it's been dropping from its full $60 MSRP since launch and is destined to get cheaper. View Deal Metaphor: ReFantazio Launch Edition: was $69.99 now $24.99 Got the free time to invest in an RPG? Metaphor: ReFantazio is just a few dollars away from its lowest ever price, and is a great early Black Friday pick for Persona fans patiently waiting for the next game in the series. View Deal The Last of Us Part II Remastered: was $79.95 now $69 The Last of Us Part II has been far cheaper in the past, and it likely will again when Black Friday kicks off for real. However, AU$10.95 off this typcially AU$80 priced PS5 title is still worthwhile. View Deal Victrix Pro BFG Wireless Gaming Controller: Tekken 8 Rage Art: was $199.99 now $139.99 Tekken fans will be glad to see $60 off this wireless PS5 controller, which takes inspiration from the latest game in the series.
