Imagine climbing to the top rank in Tekken 8 without seeing the screen. That's exactly what pro player SuperBrine did, and it's blowing up the fighting game community.
SuperBrine reached God of Destruction using Alisa while completely blindfolded with a sleep mask. He streamed the entire run on Twitch across seven broadcasts, starting in June 2026 and finishing in early October. The final stream became a hot topic, as he went from Beginner to one of the game's highest ranks with zero vision.
It's an incredible feat no matter how you look at it. It shows off SuperBrine's skill and Tekken 8's sound design. But it also sparked debate about the game's difficulty and whether Alisa is too easy to use.
In an interview, SuperBrine confirmed there was no way he could see through the mask. He pointed out that he streamed the whole thing live, so cheating wasn't possible. As for why he did it, he wanted to prove he could do something impossible and boost his visibility as a pro player. He also made it clear this wasn't a criticism of Tekken 8. "I genuinely love this game," he said, adding that these challenges support his goal of competing professionally.
The hardest part? His eyes burned from being closed so long under the mask. Mentally, it required extreme patience, and he had to take frequent breaks. So how did he pull it off? SuperBrine relied on his foundational skills, knowledge of how players at different ranks behave, and Tekken 8's audio cues. "You would be able to instantly differentiate specific sounds knowing whether a move resulted in a wall splat or not, if it was a hit or a block, and if you landed a counter hit versus a normal hit," he explained.
For those who think Tekken 8 is so easy anyone could do this, SuperBrine invites you to try. "You can't reach God of Destruction blindfolded just by picking a specific character and hoping for the best," he said. He credits thousands of hours of game knowledge and audio reliance. He also noted that other players with disabilities, like the late BrolyLegs and BlindWarriorSven, have achieved great things in fighting games.
What do you think? Is this proof of Tekken 8's accessibility or just SuperBrine's insane skill? Will you be trying a blindfolded run? Let us know!
