Chun-Li Star Callina Liang Wants to Join Dead by Daylight Movie

Ever dreamed of seeing your favorite Street Fighter star in a horror movie? If you're Callina Liang, you're already plotting your way in. The actress, who plays Chun-Li in the new Street Fighter film, has made it clear she wants a role in Blumhouse's Dead by Daylight movie.

In an interview with Variety, Liang revealed she's a massive gamer with a PC setup at home. "Right now, I'm playing a lot of Dead by Daylight," she said. "I put in 100 hours into that game over the last two months." That's some serious dedication.

Her fandom goes beyond just playing. When she met with someone at Blumhouse and learned they were adapting the game, she had a hilarious reaction. "I screamed and slid off the couch," she recalled. Honestly, same.

Dead by Daylight, released in 2016, is a 4v1 horror game where one Killer faces off against four Survivors. It's spawned four video game spin-offs (including a horror dating sim), a pinball machine, a board game, and a comic book series. So a movie was inevitable.

The adaptation was announced back in 2023, but things really picked up in 2026. In June, Blumhouse announced that Icelandic filmmaker Thordur Palsson will direct from a script by Alexandre Aja (Crawl) and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2).

Liang even offered her expertise to the creative team. "Someone on the creative team DM'd me and was like, 'Look at what we're doing; we're playing the game in the office for research,'" she said. "I'm like, 'Guys, just call me. I can tell you everything you need to know about this game. You don't have to play it to find out.'"

Street Fighter is in theaters now. With Liang's passion for Dead by Daylight, could we see her in the movie? Fans can only hope. What do you think? Would you like to see Callina Liang in the Dead by Daylight movie? Let us know in the comments!
