Prime Day PS5 Deals: Save Big on Games and Accessories

Are you hoping to score a cheap PS5 this Prime Day? Don't hold your breath. After a year of price hikes, Sony's console is sitting at a hefty $650 for the disc edition and $600 for digital. But that doesn't mean you can't save some cash on PS5 goodies this week.

Prime Day officially kicks off at midnight tonight, but early deals are already live at Amazon and other retailers like Best Buy. If you're hunting for a new console before GTA 6 drops, you're in luck – there are still ways to save, just not on brand-new units. Your best bet is a certified refurbished model from Sony. The PS5 Digital Edition is down to $499 (from $599), and the Disc Edition is $549 (from $649). That's a solid $100 savings on a console that's been through Sony's refurb program.

For those who already own a PS5, this Prime Day is all about accessories and games. We've spotted some killer early discounts. Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for PS5 is $59.99 (was $69.99) – its first price cut ever. Resident Evil Requiem Amazon Exclusive Edition is $49.99 (was $69.99), also a first-time discount. And if you need a budget headset, the Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is at a record-low $34.99. For audiophiles, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni has dropped to a new all-time low of $359.99 (normally $400).

Controllers are also on sale, with the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded at $209.99 – though no early discount yet, it's one to watch. Amazon has games starting at $8.97 and controllers from $39.99. Monitors are also in the mix, starting at $219. So whether you're upgrading your setup or just adding to your backlog, there's plenty to grab.

Why are console discounts so rare? Sony has raised prices multiple times over the past year, and supply of new units is tight. The only savings on new consoles have come from occasional bundles, which are few and far between. Refurbished models are your best alternative, and Sony's stock has been steady. If you can find an original non-Slim model, you might even snag a disc version for around $399.99 – though expect to pay $499 for digital and $549 for disc in refurbished condition.

As for GTA 6, many are waiting for a bundle closer to launch, but that's not guaranteed. In the meantime, these Prime Day deals are a great way to enhance your PS5 experience without breaking the bank. We'll be updating live as more offers drop, so keep checking back.
