Shipment Returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Did you love the chaos of Shipment or curse every time you spawned into a grenade? Either way, it's coming back. Activision has confirmed that the notorious Call of Duty map Shipment will return in this year's Modern Warfare 4.

The confirmation came after fans spotted the map in the newly released trailer for MW4's PC version. The official Call of Duty account then directly confirmed its return with a dedicated post. Shipment first debuted in 2007's Modern Warfare 4 (the original), and it's a tiny map filled with shipping containers that players dash through. Because it's so small, you can get wiped out at spawn easily, and the action is extremely chaotic. Some people love it, others hate it—there's no middle ground.

Shipment's return in 2026's MW4 isn't a huge surprise. It's been featured in numerous Modern Warfare games over the years, and it also showed up in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Mobile. But while Activision confirmed it will return, the company didn't say if it will be among the 12 6v6 maps available at launch, or if it will be released sometime later. So we'll have to wait for more details.

For those who enjoy Shipment, its inclusion is just the latest piece of good news. Before this, Activision confirmed that MW4 will finally fix how double XP tokens work and the dreaded "update requires restart" notice is going away. Additionally, MW4 will usher in a feature in Warzone that lets you avoid seeing all those wacky skins. The game also has a brand-new, Counter-Strike style mode.

Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. The game marks the first Call of Duty release on a Nintendo platform since 2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts. It's also the first game since Ghosts to skip PS4 and Xbox One.
